In April 2023, there are multiple notable startup events taking place in Europe. At SNE, we have collected a list of highlighted European startup events happening this month. 1. CloudNative Con & KubeCon Europe 2023

When: April 18-21, 2023
Where: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

CloudNative Con & KubeCon Europe is a conference that brings together developers, end-users, and vendors from the cloud native computing community. It is hosted by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). The event will feature keynote speakers, breakout sessions, workshops and project meetings where open source project maintainers can gather to discuss key topics in the cloud computing ecosystems.

For any startup working on creating scaleble digital solutions, CloudNative Con & KubeCon is a great opportunity to learn about the latest trends in cloud native computing and to network with other professionals in the field. The conference will cover topics such as Kubernetes, Prometheus, Envoy, CoreDNS, containerd, Fluentd, Jaeger, Vitess, TUF, OpenTracing, gRPC, CNI, Notary, NATS, Linkerd and Helm.


2. SaaSiest 2023

When: April 18-19, 2023
Where: Malmö, Sweden

SaaSiest is the largest community-driven B2B SaaS event in the Nordics region. Taking place in Malmö, Sweden, the 2023 edition of the event will gather more than 1,200 SaaS founders, executives, and VCs to share their experience and exchange on trends & best practices in the industry.

This year’s SaaSiest stage program will feature over 50 speakers from some of the world’s leading SaaS companies. Furthermore, the event will facilitate 1,000+ networking meetings, and there will also be exclusive sessions for CEOs & executives.

SaaSiest is organized by SaaS Nordic.


3. EU Startups Summit

When: April 20-21, 2023
Where: Barcelona, Spain

The EU-Startups Summit is an annual event hosted in Barcelona. In 2023, more than 2,000 founders, startup enthusiasts, corporates, angel investors, VCs, and media from all across Europe will gather at the Summit. For any stakeholder in Europe’s startup ecosystems, it is a great opportunity to network, connect with peers, and form new partnerships.

This year’s EU-Startups Summit will feature a stage program with more than 80 speakers, including unicorn founders, CEOs, and some of the world’s most successful investors.  The Summit’s Exhibition Hall will feature 65 companies with dedicated booths, and there will be more than 1,200 companies represented by all conference attendees. For those interested in outstanding early-stage startups, the Summit’s Pitch Competition will include 15 pre-selected finalists, competing in front of an investors jury, with the aim of taking their startups to the next level of growth.


4. SNE Events in UK & Spain

Startup Network Europe organises local startup ecosystem conferences and meetups in cities around Europe. In April 2023, SNE will be hosting events in London, Valencia, Barcelona, and Madrid. SNE events typically attract 60% Founders, 15% Investors, 25% Other Members of the ecosystem.

5. DMEA Berlin

Where: Berlin, Germany

DMEA is one of the most important events for Europe’s digital health industry. For 3 days, the Europe’s digital healthcare sector comes together in Berlin for exchanges on the latest knowledge & trends, networking, and effective customer acquisition.

At DMEA, there will be 300+ lectures, keynotes, and panel discussions with leaders & experts representing various stakeholders in the digital health ecosystems, including those active in politics, business and science. The Exhibition will feature 500+ suppliers and manufacturers, showcasing their technologies and solutions. Overall, the event expects more than 11,000 visitors from 42 countries. For Digital Health Startups, DMEA also provides dedicated exhibition package and a pitch program.


6. Startup Extreme

Where:  Hemsedal, Norway

Startup Extreme is a unique event taking place in the Norwegian mountains, organised by Startup Norway. Defining itself as ‘The World’s Most Extreme Startup Event’, Startup Extreme combines extreme sport activities with a startup conference. Over two days, attendees have the opportunity to network with each other while engaged in extreme activities including snowkiting, skydiving, mountain climbing, dog sledding, and more. In addition to this, the event also features a speakers program that include ~40 entrepreneurs, business leaders, and investors.

What do extreme sports and the startup world have in common? As the event’s website suggests, the two worlds might share a certain adventurous mentality – “It is for the 5% of the people in our world, that believe everything is possible.”


7. Techchill Riga

TechChill Riga 2023

When: April 26-28, 2023
Where: Riga, Latvia & Online

TechChill Riga is an annual startup event that has become a staple in the Latvian & Baltic ecosystem since its first edition in 2012. This year, the event expects more than 2,300 attendees, including more than 300 startups and more than 200 investors.

TechChill’s 2023 speakers program includes more than 80 founders, business leaders and investors. Furthermore, the event also features its own pitch competition program – The Fifty Founders Battle – where the winning startup gets the opportunity to receive up to 350,000 EUR in investment.
