February 2023 sees a strong roster of remarkable startup events taking place all around Europe. We have compiled a list of outstanding conferences, conventions and trade-shows happening in Europe this month. These events offer opportunities for networking with like-minded individuals, staying up-to-date with industry developments and trends, and presenting your startup to a relevant crowd.

1. GoWest (Gothenburg)

When: February 7-8, 2023
Where: Gothenburg, Sweden

GoWest is a Nordic Venture Capital Forum that takes place annually in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is an event focusing on startup fundraising, and aims to serve as an in-person meeting point for investors and entrepreneurs from Sweden and beyond. For startups interested in the Nordic market, GoWest is a great opportunity for networking with key players in the industry, showcasing their products and services, and gaining exposure to potential investors and customers.


2. The Swiss Startup Conference 2023


When: February 9, 2023
Where: Zürich, Switzerland

The Swiss Startup Conference 2023 brings together hundreds of Swiss Startup Founders and International Investors. This event is organised by Startup Network Europe and sponsored by TikTok. The Conference is free-to-attend.

This year’s event program includes panels that feature prominent Swiss founders and investors, including Brigitte Baumann Gervais (Founder of efino; Founder of Go Beyond Investing, President Emeritus of EBAN – The European Business Angel Network), Tanya Froehlich (COO at Swiss ICT Investor Club), and many more.


3. European Blockchain Convention 2023

When: February 15-17, 2023
Where: Barcelona, Spain

The European Blockchain Convention (EBC) has a clear mission: “accelerate the blockchain ecosystem in Europe”. Since its first edition in 2018, the event has certainly contributed to this cause by hosting thousands of attendees and hundreds of speakers, as well as some of the world’s most outstanding startups in the blockchain & crypto domain.

The 2023 edition of EBC will be a 3-Day event, and will attract over 2,500 attendees, as well as feature more than 200 speakers. The event will also include a trade fair that covers more than 2,000 square metres of exhibition space. The Convention’s keynotes, panels, and workshops will cover topics including blockchain, crypto, DeFi, NFTs, and Web 3.


4. The State of Dutch Tech 2023

When: February 16, 2023
Where: Online

The State of Dutch Tech is an annual event organised by TechLeap, an important catalyzing organisation in the Netherland’s tech startup sector. The 2023 edition will be hosted online, and will feature leading figures in the Netherland’s tech ecosystem. The event’s speakers include Mark Rutte (Prime Minister of the Netherlands), Constantijn van Oranje (Special Envoy Techleap.nl), Micky Adriaansens (Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy of the Netherlands) and other leaders.

The topics discussed by the speakers will cover the current challenges Dutch startups & scaleups are facing, as well as some possible solutions. The issues that will be addressed include talent, diversity, capital, and policies.


5. Euroshop – Startup Stage


When: February 26 – March 2, 2023
Where: Düsseldorf, Germany

Euroshop is the world’s No.1 Retail Trade Fair. Taking place in Düsseldorf, the exhibition will feature some of the most cutting edge retail technology and solutions the industry has to offer.

In 2023, Euroshop will also feature a Startup Hub segment, where innovative new comers in the retail space can showcase their products and services that have the potential to create significant impact in the industry in the years to come. The innovation featured in the Startup Hub cover areas such as payment, analytics, smart stores, artificial intelligence, communication technologies, POS solutions and many more.


6. Mobile World Congress & 4YFN (Barcelona)


When: February 27 – March 2, 2023
Where: Barcelona, Spain

Mobile World Congress Barcelona (MWC) is the world’s largest exhibition in the mobile industry and an annual conference. The event showcases the latest mobile technology advancements, as well as gathers industry leaders, experts and companies from around the world to launch new products, foster innovation and drive the growth of the mobile industry. The event covers topics such as 5G, IoT, and AI.

4YFN is an international startup event organised within the MWC. It includes programs for startups as well as investors, and of course the event also includes opportunities for matchmaking between the two groups. The 2022 edition of 4YFN featured more than 700 exhibitors from 35 different countries and 12 different industries. It also featured more than 250 startup pitches, and more than 1,000 investors were present.
